Using the process known as rolling-ball milling, spherical graphite anodes are made smaller by subjecting them to repeated collisions with a rotating ball of a hard material. Because of the mechanical properties and small size of these anodes, researchers have designed two other types of graphite anodes. The first type started with ordinary graphite, and then the second type used graphite flake reinforcements to produce a second-generation graphite ball. In this paper, we will show that gently single-stage rolling of graphite flake can produce a good graphite ball. In comparison to rolled, ball-milled graphite and the second-generation graphite ball, rolled graphite ball has better mechanical properties, which leads to an increase in the energy density of the graphite-based anodes. A large-capacity (7.2 mAh/cm 2 ) symmetric supercapacitor and a high-capacity (1.9 mAh/cm 2 ) asymmetric supercapacitor are fabricated based on the rolled graphite ball anodes. The ideal energy-storage performance is obtained by adopting a symmetric two-electrode configuration and an asymmetric three-electrode configuration, respectively. 7211a4ac4a
